WPC vs Timber
Timber is a natural material which adapts to its environment: it swells and shrinks with moisture and is faded to a silver-grey by UV light and rain when left unprotected. WPC on the other hand, does none of these things.
The main advantage of WPC is that it is more durable in outside applications. When treated, timber can last for decades, but it does require regular careful maintenance. WPC is much easier to leave as it is, without having to worry about splitting or re-staining. It is also resistant to rot and corrosion, withstanding the elements with ease and making it a popular choice for exterior cladding and decking projects.
WPC is also colour fast, so if you do not like the natural weathering of timber, this is a smart alternative. Decades under sunshine and rain will not affect the colour of your WPC, helping it look its best year after year.
